WLC 400: Major Capstone
Students work with the instructor and WLC faculty advisors to research, synthesize, write and present their Capstone projects. Students will also assemble a Graduation Portfolio reflecting how each MLO was met. This course is required for all Japanese, Spanish and World Languages and Cultures majors.
Course Reflective Narrative
This Major Capstone course fulfills the University Requirements for students under the World Languages and Cultures umbrella who are in their last semester and about to graduate. Like WLC 300, this class has both Japanese and Spanish major students. In this class we created and submitted our capstone titles, questions and abstracts in the beginning of the semester. We spent about half the time going over different parts of the graduation portfolios and how to write narratives like the one I am writing now. The other half was spent checking on our capstone progress throughout the semester. This course was helpful because it set deadlines for various parts of the capstone and graduation portfolio. Because of these deadlines, I was able to keep (somewhat) on track with both projects. It was very interesting to see how the Spanish major's capstones differed from ours, but I felt a sense of camaraderie with them because all of us were Language majors.
