Course Reflective Narrative
This Major ProSeminar course fulfills the University Requirements for students under the World Languages and Cultures umbrella. This course prepares students for the upper-division courses they will be taking. Both Spanish and Japanese majors are in this class which prepares us for our capstone and graduation portfolio. This course is supposed to be taken in your junior year at CSUMB, but I ended up taking it my second-to-last semester. Consequently, I had already completed many of the projects such as thinking about possible capstone topics and making and individual learning plan. I did however find one part of this class particularly helpful, which was when the career counselors came in to tell us about resume and statement of purpose writing. I happened to be applying to the JET program at the time and used much of what they told us in my application, statement of purpose, and interview. This class also gave us time to start working on this graduation portfolio website.
